well, my mangroves have been in their new enclosure for 24 hours...

and theyre loving it! Im so pleased with their reaction. This morning the female was hanging out in the front, just looking out. When I opened the door, she didnt bolt, like she normally does, but just sat there peeping her head out the door. I pushed her head out of the way to shut the door, and she actually STAYED!! Normally, contact would have sent her into a major fit. Then she just dropped down, and continued sniffing around exploring things. Im hoping that their new found serenity will afford some babies!

p.s. The pics are coming this afternoon!!

I have actually downsized quite a bit from where it has been in the past. Im trying to focus on a couple things at a time, until I get really confident with my husbandry. Ive sort of put the rescue end of it on hold. In the past, Ive had twice the amount of animals that I have currently.

I currently have a pair of Mangroves(looking to add another female,)a pair of timors(also looking for a couple more females for that group), 5 Boscs that Ive been doing behavioural research with, a rescued Nile that had almost died from MBD, and a BT. Its funny. I was thinking yesterday...out of all these monitors, my most favorite, is one of my Boscs. He is an ABSOLUTE sweetheart. Ill be posting pics of him with the other pics this afternoon. I love that little guy so much. If you could have the liberty of calling a monitor "dog tame", he would be it. I must say... I dint make him that way. I have no methods, or secrets. He was hatched nice. Most of my animals are the oppisite. Down right MEAN!

Im going to have to make you all wait a few x-tra hours. Im at my friends house now, but sadly I forgot my scanner, so now I have to wait until after my statistics study session (6- 8), go back home, get the scanner, and come back out here! Grrrrr! Sometimes things get so dissorderly and I could scream!

Well, hows this for suspense?

Well my friends computer crashed yesterday, so we were using his brothers. Turns out his brothers doesnt have the necessary stuff to format the pics to the internet so we had to wait for his comuter to get back up, and now he has to download all his programs back onto the c drive! He promised to get it done as quickly as possible and send me a link to my pics when hes done.

I scanned pics of past and present monitors, the bengals at the zoo, and the new enclosure of course.
They ARE coming......
