Yesterday Will and I made it out for a the better part of the day here in Ky. Our first stop was at a place we are conducting a herp survey at. First Lampropeltis find was this Bullitt county intergrade milk with a large meal.

At another location at our study site was this Nelson county black kingsnake.

We decided to hit some back roads as we worked our way down to where we are conducting most of our research. This kingsnake was found under a sheet of tin that was nearly touching the road. Crummy pic of a really nice looking king.

Not a Lampropeltis, but one of our favorite snakes to see. This is one of three eastern hognose snakes discovered yesterday.

A pic of one of the places we stopped in to investigate. We really like big AC, especially pieces with a southern exposure. Beneath the big metal in the front of the pic we found a pair of kings.

Along with this attractive female was a rough looking large male that was preparing to shed.

Late in the day this prairie kingsnake was found under a board.
Not a bad day. In all we found one milk snake, six black kingsnakes and four prairie kings (plus one this afternoon from behind my house).
Hope everyone is enjoying the spring time!
Phil
