breeding sliders

do u have to hibernate yellow belly sliders before they will breed. i have a male & female who or both 11 months old. i was woundering how old they should be before they started breeding. any info would be greatly appresheated. thanks for your time

A lot of turtle species do better with a resting period before they're bred. Many breeders do hibernate before planned breedings.
They have to get through puberty before they can breed, that may be another 4 years or so. Kind of depends on how fast or slow they grow in captivity.
