I found this guy sunning today. I picked it up just to get some photos - OH MAN WHAT A STENCH. I think I even infected my camera! This is the second adult I've found here and both have been very generous with the intestinal juices!!!

Too bad I can't post the smell!

Hey,

When herping years ago with friends, I came upon a LONGNOSE snake. This is in the Anza Borrego Desert about 9p.m. at night. We moved it off the road but in the process, the @%*# thing not only secreted waste products all over itself, but a NOXIOUS mixture of both blood and fecal matter that
*****STANK** to high heavens and which the smell could not be removed, even with the use of valuable beer. (Guinness *) Needless to say the snake got deposited on the other side of the road(Read:flung) and we didnt pick up any more longnose snakes that night despite seeing two.

I eventually had to throw away the t shirt I wore that night, as I couldnt rid it of the stench.

Kinda sounds like your cal king story

A bite would have been more humane

I'd prefer a bite any day! That smell is just wrong. When I caught my first I was so excited driving home that I called my wife to tell her about it. I had to hang up my cell phone because having my hand that close to my face was making me sick.

From now on I'll carry baby wipes!!
