That is a VERY old story. The reptile wold was really dissapointed to find out that snake was only 21' long and 300lbs. Scientists tried for a long time to confirm the locals story but they wouldn't allow it. Then after much nagging they allowed a scientist to measure and weigh the snake and then the cat was out of the bag that is was not a record snake. A bummer IMHO but it's still a huge A$$ snake.
