Wasn't sure where to post this so, I thought I'd put it here.

I'm just about done with my Fake Rock Setup, and was wondering if this sealer would be ok to use over the grout? I planned on mixing some sand in with it & putting on a few coats, it's acrylic & also water based. What do you all think?

not sure if this will be good or bad to use for a sealer but i made my own following these directions from veronica at beautifuldragson.com instead of mixing in sand, cuz it doesnt stick well, use weathered stone over the grout to make the rough rock look and texture, then seal. she has a sealer she recommends on this page but i looked at lowes and home depot for it and they didnt carry it apparently. also checked hobby shops and craft stores and didnt find it. i found some other stuff but havent tried it yet. ill let you know how it works. i dont think the stuff you got should be a problem as long as you let the fumes wear off alot. id suggest washing it alot with water and bleach mixture after its completed and the fumes are gone.

i understand what ur saying by washing it good, even with bleach & all to get rid of the fumes.....cuz it does have a warning label on it about the fumes. but 1 of my concerns is how it will hold up under his basking light & those temps? you think it will start to bring out those fumes again under those temps.?

didnt think of that. its definately a possibility. my opinion, if you dont know, dont use it. i wouldnt risk it with my beardies if i didnt know. id suggest going to a craft store like micheals or AC Moore and finding something non-toxic with no fumes. hope this works out for ya
