Lots of Frillie Questions?????

ISH Jul 30, 2003 11:00 AM

1) I just moved to Florida is it okay to house my two Frillies outside?

2) What kind of wood can i use in florida for them to climb on and how do I treat it???

3) Both my frillies (juveniles) have lost some of their claws what is causing this? Anyone out there have this problem? They are in a class and metal screen cage and I'm wondering if the screening is the problem?

4) How do you sex the frilled dragons? One is white and the other dark and the both seem to have some bumps (what's the scientific word?) near their ventrical.

5) What is a good place to get care and caging information for Frilled dragons?

Thanks, any input would be greatly appreciated.

it should be fine to house frillies outdoors in FL although it depends a little on your location and type of set up.
It can be hard to find frilly appropriate caging...I'd build your own. 4 feet high, 3 feet wide as a minimum.
Nails...either humidity issues or they are getting them torn out with the cage or cage furniture....try upping humidity.
Sexing--tough until they are subadult size. Males will be bigger with bigger heads and frills. Females are more dainty. Harder to tell by "bulges" with frillies--males and females are both pretty flat with muscles and a central bulge--but there should be some difference by subadult size.
Hope that helps
