Here is a pic of my Tangerine AFT's. Not sure on a price, I hatched these guys out myself on 4/6/03.

there a re a couple of common phases, normals whihc I have, an "orange phase" or "tangerine" phase where the lighter bands appear orangish in color, the stripe phase - a simple recessive from what little I've read thus far, and amelanistics. The ones referred to as "tanagerine" to me look like carrot tail AFT's if there is such a thing. Good luck. I'm just starting with this species as well no don't know much about pricing.

there is also "leusistic", though probably the wrong term, pied, and abbarants. the leusistic is really kool, a lot like an amelanistic in appearance, but a lot different too. the tangerines arn't really carrot-tails, because a lot of them have the orange on the tails, and it appears on all phases.

hi.

the striped phase is simple recessive. breeding it with non-stripes will result in heterozygotes. as for other phases, there are not really well established names. there are amels
and what i have been calling "marbled," i am not sure how that gene works yet.

i have no problems asking 600/800 for nice amels, and easily a quarter of that for beautiful marbles and hets. the stripe phase does not effect my asking price, i consider it a by-product. most influential to price is color and pattern. a nice animal will always fetch a high price, while mediocre amels will go for less than 200.

I've come across some great looking colors when my own fatties produced this year. Loads of orange.. great looking bands on the tails.. some look albino but are not considered albino due to them still having some black.
Here is a photo of my favorite one.. I have most of them posted on a web page as well. Sold fast!

I picked up one of her geckos last night and can say that she's got some amazing fattails. They're all real vivid and the patterns are awesome. The one she mentions that looks albino does really look like it til you notice a small bit of darker pigment around its head. Great family, too; thanks, Veronica!

Hey Rob!
Hope you made it home alright. Kids wanted me to ask you if you named that fattie. My kids name everything

We made it home alright. It took a little while because of the rain.

Nah, we haven't named her yet. I try to name a lot of our geckos, but we're a little behind on them. We finally named this boy Goliath because of his size. He's a Blizzard Lizard

And, I just snapped this shot. It looks like some of yours. He's almost like a hypo tangerine fattail gecko

Thanks again for the little one. Take care.

they look great!! love your Leo too! I would love to get a lucidious (spelling) african fat tail. I think they look like your leo you posted. No color at all. But my all time favorites are the Tangerine Amelanistic.
I took a new photo of my female that is the mother to the fattie you bought from me. Shes getting nice and fat now that I keep her by herself. She gained a few ounces since you saw her at my house.
I put up a new web site also. HOpe you dont mind if I post a link to your site as one of my favorite web sites
I'm always looking on your site to see whats new.
