Interesting story, but I don't like how the RSPCA guy says boas should not be pets and are not companion animals. He also says stray reptiles are found often? How many stray dogs are caught everyday? I guarantee more stray dogs are caught in one day compared to stray reptiles caught in a year! Man, negative publicity and ignorance sucks!!!!

I have been keeping reptiles for some time now and I have yet to find one that is a 'companion' pet. I disagree with some of what the article says, but I do believe that boas do not fit into the 'companion' pet catagory. This is just my opinion, based on what MY definition of companion pet is. One of the criteria is mutual exchange of emotions. None of my boas have done this with me so far.
THIS IS JUST MY OPINION.

I agree with you that boas are not companion animals, but that doesn't mean they don't make great pets like the rspca guy said. We both know they make awesome pets, just not the same way dogs do! Thats what I was trying to say. They don't run up to me with their tails wagging like this girl does! LOL

I agree, boas make good pets. I am glad we are on the same page!
Here is a picture of who greets me at the door everyday:

Very nice! He is a boxer, right? My wife wants one!
