the best time of year to breed & how long do you leave the male in w/ the female?

okay, from what i know, if you are planning on breeding with a cooling period, i, myself would start in october, and do the cooling period. if you are planning on introducing them without the cooling period, it doesnt mater. as for how long to keep the male in, i've heard of males staying and breeding the female for up to two weeks. but normaly, just remove him when he loses intrest. give him a good week. i'm planning to breed for my first time this october.
