Not exactly field herping or...road cruising either???
This morning I exited I-275 here in Tampa because it was bumper to bumper...(8:15 a.m.)Well, the other major roads were nearly as bad, so when I got to a very busy intersection I was already a bit frazzled.
I was in the left turn lane with three other lanes on my right waiting for the lights to change when I glanced at the cars around me. There, two lanes over, I saw something I just wasn't ready to process.
A young cornsnake was making its way down and out of a wheel well of a Toyota and had just about placed his head on the pavement.
Not thinking very clearly at all I jumped out and approached the car as I weaved between the standing traffic.
Thinking I had better announce myself politely but quickly (so as not to get shot as a car-jacker) I said "'scuuuse me, but you have a snake on your wheel"
The lady freaked as I grabbed the snake and made off saying "I'll take him".
Just in time as the lights changed.
I bet the others who saw are talking about "the idiot who grabbed the snake" in their offices right now....
Not one for naming snakes, maybe this one should be called LUCKY as he would have certainly been killed in seconds after the lights changed.
