I would just like to thank everyone who answered my question...
Thumbs up...
If possible, try to get your hands on a copy of Reptiles Magazines' November 1996 issue (The Boa Constrictor Issue). It has alot of great info on boas in general, as well as a nice section devoted to just Argentine boas.
I have had two BCO's and they were both great boas. The male was very aggressive, but the female was a little doll. Her growth rate was like nothing I have ever seen before.
Good luck with your search,
Eric
I have tried getting back issues of that magazine. They ignore my email inquiries. *shrugs*
So an Argentine is a BCO? I have 2 central american boas, a 2 year old male and a hatchling female. There are SO many different types of boas and I get so confused so easily! *lol*
Yes, an Argintine boas latin name is Boa Constrictor Occidentalis (not sure on the spelling!). They are very good pet boas, if acquired when young. They are much more forgiving of 'keeper errors', like temperature fluctuations.
Good luck,
Eric
