I knew this female was going to lay eggs soon but I had no idea she would lay nine.

These are all pretty big eggs for a redfoot....5.5 X 3.8 cm on average.
If you look closely, you can see one with a big dent and another with a long crack. The cracked egg was Superglued and is fine. The dented one is also OK.

She looks like she did very well! Pictures of her really don't do her justice.

It took her close to ten hours from start to finish.
But this was only her second clutch though and 'new' breeding females seem to take a lot longer than more experienced ones.
How does momma look now that she has completed this fine task?
Is she still resting? I hope she has a smile because it may have been hard, but she did a good job!
The next morning she drank for a long time and ate like a horse. Then she was completely inactive for the next two days.
