drinking from the rodent bottle

lele Apr 26, 2006 05:37 PM

I know many of us have tried to get our cham to drink from a rodent bottle and I think few of us have been successful. I always had it in there for Luna and she would drink from it, but only if I was holding it and making it drip but never when it was suspended from her "ceiling." Well, the little harness I made was still there so I figured I would put the bottle in it for Cyrus - he's drinking! I heard a funny clicking noise and when I looked it was the sound of the littel metal ball. I am psyched! He drinks from leaves and from the bottle - I may not need a dripper (wouldn"t THAT be nice!!). He is SO different from Luna in so very many ways (she insisted on drippers and hand held bottles) and it makes it a lot easier to see him in her old cage. I even set it up basically the same way and debated on doing that, thought maybe I should make it look real different so no reminders of her - but all is well in big cage chamland!

RUNNING on one, NEVER, but couldn't you just see them putting ONE foot very carefully on it and then trying to place the second and ending up on their head or hanging by their tail? The image makes me giggle. PLEASE don't do that to baby Cyrus! LOL But the rodent bottle thing is so cool. No excess water and hydration whenever he needs it. Very cool little guy! Diane
