Is that to much protein for a red foot tortoise? i dont know if they can eat a rat like that, but i can be wrong, good pictures, not to nasty.

That is pretty interesting. Really cool actually but I agree you probably shouldn't make a habit of that for the tortoise's sake.

Yes, they do. I know several people who occaisionally give rats to their animals. They will eat carrion in their natural environment when they come across it. So (gross or not) mice are okay.
