not drinking

i never see my hatchling western hog drink,iv had him for about a week i have already fed him two pinkise on a 4 day interval.

Have you tried introducing him to the water bowl? Could it be too hot or too cold? Just a couple of suggestions.

I've never seen mine drink from her dish either, and it's been 2 years... I've heard that this isn't unusual. I feed her f/t mice, and what I do see is that she seems to press her mouth against them for a few seconds before chomping down, and I think she might be drinking the water off the mice--she kind of moves the sides of her head and throat. I don't dry them before I feed them, just in case this is where she gets her water from. I probably wouldn't worry too much, just make sure your snake does always have access to clean water.

Some times if the Hog is small they can't find the water if the bowl is more then 3/4" tall. Try using a short bowl or bottle lid till it gets bigger.
