Egg Question

bluetreefingers Apr 26, 2006 11:49 PM

below is a picture of the 2 clutches daisy has dropped so far.

the first pair was laid on 04-6 and since i was keeping the humidity too high, i believe the shell became weak (or so they tell me). so i lowered the humidity to in attempts to bring them back to looking normal but that didnt happen.
the second pair was laid on 4-24 and they seem do be doing fine.

my question is. will the first pair make it? what is the problem with the shell being too weak?

i finally got the humidity problem down, but now the problem is keeping the humidity at the same level... any suggestions?

thanks,
aaron

That is an odd color for the shell to be giving off. If it was being candled I'd say very good color. I'm not sure there is more you can do but wait and see. The only plus I see is that the eggs are growing. But again an inferile egg will grow too.

What temp are you incubating at?

the eggs are incubating at 80 degrees.

when i first put the eggs (1st clutch) i had the humdity way too high, so they developed that constant "wet" look.
i fixed the humidity by the time the 2nd clutch came along, but i was never able to revert the 1st clutch to its normal condition.

what are the dangers if the humidity is too low? and too high?

thanks
aaron
