Morning feedings?

jmartin104 Apr 27, 2006 07:16 AM

I'm in a pondering mode again. Does anyone feed their animals in the morning? I have a few that will pound a rat first thing in the morning.

I have some that'll eat anytime. Funny enough Annabel(the female who just started eating for me) will nab a F/T mouse anytime I put one in. Now that she decided to eat she's almost insatiable. I think I stop feeding her before she's full. Don't want to go too fast. I'll probably try a F/T rat pup next time.

Pretty much I feed whatever time of day I get to it. Morning/afternoon/evening. I know most prefer an evening feeding~ but I have a lot of snakes......so they get offered a meal when I'm ready to offer a meal. Usually in the afternoon, and when not in winter fast most will snap up the rat no matter what time of day I offer it!

I have six that will only eat early in the morning in almost pitch darkness. If I feed like this they will eat every week. If I try feeding them after work in the evening like all my others they won't touch anything. I have let all six go for up to a month trying to feed with the others before I gave up and just started setting my alarm a little early. I have also tried feeding them late at night at around 1:00am and also nothing.

I either feed right at or right after dark at night or first thing in the morning when the lights come on. They both work fine for me.
