Armata female! The petshop did not have the crested I wanted, so they offered me a beautiful emerald armata for free! I believe she is female, and she needs a name. Any ideas?

I felt Olympia's sides today, and I can actually feel the eggs. does this mean delivery soon? Marcia, is there a phone number you can e-mail to my mosinmark@aol.com address incase I need help with the eggs once they arrive? I have the substrate and the styrofoam container. Olympia did not feed tonight, so I think the time is near.... I just hope my baby is okay.

awww mann! I went up to check on my new armata, and her tail broke off about 1.5 inches from the tip! I can't believe it. Never had this happen before. She is a young baby, only about eight inches from head to toe. My son named her Princess. Will her tail grow back? Poor baby.

Dang, no, tails don't grow back. And, armata are really tough to work with. TLC and lots of quite and calm. I'm betting she has worms and is probably dehydrated.

These are not the calm animal that the capra are. Check out the forum MHD forum on repticzone.com and read some of the posts on armata for suggestions and insight on these guys.

They are beautiful, awesome animals. I hope she does well for you!

Hello Marcia!

Princess is a captive bred baby. Only about six inches from head to tail. She is young and green and plump. I do not think she is dehydrated, as she looks beautiful and healthy. She is bright eyed, skin looks great. Will get her doo doo checked next week. She has been sitting on a branch with an adult capra. She has not flared her pouch or hissed yet, but we will see! I will post pics next week.

She gets plenty of warmth and fresh spring water and sprays. Crickets are everywhere... So I will just keep an eye on her.

She is quite amazing looking! How are your babies?

Do you know who the breeder is? I hate to question this but I really don't know of anyone who has captive bred armata yet.

Hey Marcia! When I go in this week for crickets, I will ask. Also, I am going to post a pic of her on Monday to confirm she is actually armata. I believe that she is. I am not sure the person even knew what he had when he sold her to the pet shop. He just called her a "green lizard" on the invoice. She is very small and has the lacey looking pattern on her back. Two sets of horns, and large spikes on her neck. Very Pretty. How are those babies?
