Question of opinions...

Kingofspades Apr 27, 2006 10:11 PM

My roomie has a ball python that I am trying to convince him to let me buy...haha.
Anyway,
this snake has A LOT of white on it's underside, and clear belly scales. I'm convinced there may be something to it...

What should I breed it to to try and prove it?
Should I try to find a female that looks like it?

I'll post pics of it tomorrow for opinions...
but I just have this gut instinct that there is something more to this snake...

Get a nice normal female or two. When you get babies, save all the female babies, and maybe a male or two. If you have to get rid of some, move the ones that look least like the original male. Then raise the babies and mate father x daughter and brother x sister.

You could try for a female or two that look like him. But you may not find such a female, and then the owner may have a similar gut feeling about her. The odds are that, whatever females you get, nothing spectacular will turn up before the second generation. And sometimes those gut feelings turn out to just be a touch of belly ache. Good luck.
