Traveling with my RES

burunx Apr 28, 2006 09:13 AM

Hello,

We are driving from Cleveland to Minneapolis (at least 11 hrs. driving w/sleep break or 20 some hrs. w/sleep break) and am not sure what would be best for my 3 year old RES. His tank has been shipped and he will not get it back for at least 7 more days. Is it better to keep him in a small critter carrier w/a little water and a dry spot the entire time (might stay warmer this way) or put him in a bathtub when I have the chance (what temp?).

Thank you.
Rebecca and Crush (the RES)

You shouldn't have any problems with using the critter carrier. I have used a picnic cooler with success in the past. It insulates, holds water, and has a lid to keep in the splashes. WIth your trip, it may seem long, but a day without water isn't going to hurt a healthy slider. The tub in the hotel is a nice oasis on the road however
