snake to become aggressive? I have a 2 year old boa(male) that I've owned since he was a couple of months old. He has always been calm and docile. Last week he bit me and now seems very aggressive.
I now have to use a snake hook to lift him up.
Have any of you gone through this before?

no i've never had this problem but i'm wondering if he is at breeding age. also if feeding in his cage is all you do they will assume everytime you go in its feeding time. just my thoughts...i'm no expert.

Thanks for the reply. As far as feeding him goes I have never fed him in the cage and yes he is at breeding age. He is two years old and 4 feet long that is old and large enough for a male boa.
I'm at a loss but I might give him up if he does not become his old self again. I might look for a breeder who might be interested in him.

you may wana check real good for mites...they can make snakes aggressive...i have a green tree that has mites that im in the process of gettin rid of and it is more aggresive then normal
