A sad day....

Well my old Monmouth County male has passed on He was a pretty old snake at over 20 or so and lived a pretty good life at my house for the last 5 years. He was owned by a few others in his lifetime and he was always a cherished animal. I usually dont get that emotionally attached to snakes but this guy was special. I remember when I first read the article on Eastern Kings in the now defunct mag Reptile & Amphibian Magazine. I loved the article and fell in love with the handsome looking King pictured in it.

Little did I know I would get that very snake years later from the author of that article, Jonathan Wright of Canada. The Old Monmouth has left behind some nice young with his oldest son (that I have) breeding for the first time this year so his legacy will continue !

Kieth,

Please accept my condolances on the passing of the King Of Kings.
I read that same article, which also insired me to get a chain king. It would have been nice to meet the old fella, but ce la vie. Take comfort for he had a long and good snake life.

Take Care,

John D

Likewise, I'd like to pass along my condolences. I can't imagine how I'll feel when my guys start to go someday. At least you can feel good about having given him a good home so that he could live out his natural lifespan.

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.

Wow! What a special snake. He had a lot of wonderful history behind him, and lived a good long life. Amazing how they become integral parts of our families. My condolences on your loss.

Sorry for your loss!

I know its a hard loss but take consolation in the fact that you helped him to live a good, long, healthy life AND he passed on his wonderful genes that many others now enjoy.

I'm hoping for the same for my snakes.

keeping snakes when you stop being emotionally attached to them.
sorry for your loss.

Nothing wrong with being attached. Some animals just stand out more than others.

about the sad news, but at least he's passed on his genes several times to ensure his legacy will live on for a looong time to come!

Sorry Bro,

I'll miss the 'ole man even though I never saw him face to face. I'm just glad his legacy will live on with a few of us that are lucky enough to be caring for his burly, broad-headed youngins.
