Camera Tripod

Hi

I have a Panasonic Lumix FZ7. I'm currently looking for a sturdy COMPACT(folds to 12" or less) camera tripod that can extend atleast 50" could also stay low to the ground when set up. Most of the ones I've seen have the legs which extend like TV antenas and have plastic feet so I'm worried about the durability. If you have any recomendations please let me know. Thanks.

I don't know of a sturdy tripod that small that will go to 50", but I have this little Slik Sprint Mini and it is the best little tripod I have used. It goes to 43" and is very solid for its weight. It folds down to 14" and comes with a decent little ballhead as well.

The reason I bought it is that unlike most other mini-tripods, it does get low to the ground (as seen here) and is very sturdy.

Whats the price on that and does it have a quick release system availible?
Cheers,

Scott,

This tripod runs about $59.95 at B&H, etc. It doesn't have a quick release, but you might be able to remove the ball head and put a lightweight quick release system on there.

Because it is short, it is actually easy to screw onto the camera in a few seconds with the head locked and the legs folded in.

Hi Chris

That's a great suggestion. I specially like the stronger legs. I'll check it out. Thanks for the help.
