I had a small red milk with an unshed eyecap, so I took it to the vet. I took it to the vet because the snake was so small. It was only $25 I think. You can call them and ask for an estimate. Derek

With some precision and a pair of tweezers u can remove the "eye caps" yourself... it happens to me every now-n-then and i get it off without a problem ... you'll need to hold the snake's head and expect the snake to get a lil pissed so try to do is as quick as possible.

Hope that helped

the best thing you can do is to wait until the next shed it should come off then.
how do you know the eye cap was retained if their wasnt ant other shed in the cage? if its hanging off a little you could try mineral oil and a cotton swap others wise i would leave it alone or maybe increase the humidity and hope the snake gets it off on its own. please take it from my experience if you make a mistake it WILL make it worse than if you let the snake run its natural course of shedding.
