thinking about gettin a collared!

savannahblue Apr 29, 2006 10:51 PM

i was just wondering what kinda pets they make. I've heard bad things and good things. do they need alot of handling to become tame? are they as fast as everyone says they are or will it just hang out with me?

Hi, glad to have you with us. You asked the wrong person, LOL I love collareds, and work mostly with them. They are awesome little lizards. Most people here will say the same.

Colors and patterns are so diverse. And if you go with captive bred you will be very happy. If you handle them they become very friendly. I have wild caughts that after being worked with have become awesome pets/very tame.

Some wc's never tone down as people do not work with them enough. But your best bet is a captive bred. You won't be sorry

I sit and stare at how PRETTY they are, and I have had them for years now. Hhehehehehe !

hey Ive also noticed you work with chameleons. my next lizard will either be a Collared or a chameleon of some sort. which one is the best for handling? I've heard that alot of chameleons stress easily with too much handling.

I'd definitely recommend a collared if you want a lizard to handle. Chameleons are really cool and interesting to watch, but you're right, they do tend to stress pretty easily.

After I got my first one about 12-13 years ago, there was no going back. There simply isn't another lizard that I'll ever love as much as a collared.
