I ran extra loops of heat cable on the lower levels and 1 run on the rest of the levels since my snake room is colder down low.

I guess that every part of the country would be different.

I heard that they have different length cables if you need them.

I had to run mine a couple of different times before I got it right. Remember also that 6 feet of the cable next to the plug is cold, there is a blue line around the cable to show where it starts to heat up.

route 2 sets of cable per shelf.

I Agree my next rack will be ran with two lengths of heat rope. It is difficult to make it with one but it can be done. Just use sparingly on the highest levels. It took me 3 tries to get it right.

Not to hi-jack but a captive group is hard to resist...those of you that own this rack system...do you like them? How do they hold up? Any downside to the heat cable (outside the routing)?

These racks seem very cost effective...just wondering what you are giving up if anything?

Thanks

the rack is great and it shipped very fast, NO heads up email just BAM and its at your door.

2 rows of cable is not enough b/c the cable has to run at full strenght 100% of the time to get the temps up. So i'll be ordering other 14' of so to do the job right.

We pay top dollar for this animals so i'm not cutting corns to save a buck.

I absolutely love this rack I will never own another type. There is no reason to pay more and get less with another companies rack. No bowing, the heat cable works well and my snakes love them.
