what kind of frog is this?

blrose Apr 30, 2006 10:38 PM

I recently acquired this frog, which was sold to me as a leopard frog. It does not look like the other leopard frogs that were in the same enclosure, not does it look like any of the leopard frogs I have researched online. I am unsure what he is and would appreciate any help you folks can give me. the links are below to pictures him.

Thanks for your help.

You could try Litoria aurea. Looks similar.

you have an asian greenback frog (Rana livida), aka cascade frog. they are considered to be more toxic to other amphibinas then you typical rana species, so i wouldn't mix with other species if you were thinking about it. they are a nocturnal species that like semi-aquatic habitats and plenty places to hide (they tend to be shy).

here is a link with some info.
