Sex question? Wooo Hooo!!

mkco79 Apr 30, 2006 10:42 PM

lol OK ok stop thinking dirty!
Obviously probeing is the most reliable source for finding out what sex a snake is.... Other then having that done are there any little things you can look for that might give a good clue?

If you notice your snake takes more than 30 min. to get ready, its probably a girl. On the other hand, if after your snake eats, it burps loudly, and flips on the game, probably a boy...

The only way to accuratly know the sex of your snake is to probe or pop it. Unlike some snakes, ball pythons have no external signs that can determine if it is a male or female. Things such as anal spurs and tail lengths have proven to be unaccurate. If you would like to learn how to probe or pop, you can do what I did to learn. I had to take a few snakes in to the vet b/c they were newly purchased, and I had them teach me. Good luck,
