Wow what a short week this was. Well it is Sunday night now and time for another WIR. I am posting this a day early as I will be out for the day herping with my son tomorrow and I am not sure I will have the time to do the WIR tomorrow. With out further ado here we go,

To me, it sounds like you have two snakes of the same sex. Are you sure they are male and female? If you are possitive that you have one of each, try seperating them for a few days and then re-introduce them. This generally gets my snakes interested in each other.
Sometimes if left together, they may mate when no one is around and then want nothing to do with each other. Get them sexed and seperate and re-introduce.

need help! 2 months without going to the bathroom? WOW that sucks, What are his feeding habits like? Has he seen the vet yet?

FINAL THOUGHTS:
Well there it is short but sweet, another WIR is done. Every time I come here or do anything that has to do with my own herps or herp in general I seem to ask myself "Why do I enjoy doing this? What draws me to it? Isn’t there better way to spend my time?" Do this day I can answer those questions, It seems like a drug, an addiction "A good one at that" I would much rather my son be out herping or taking care of his herps than out drinking or killing himself one of the millions of other ways out there. My hopes are that he will not follow my footsteps with my business venture working with Rattle Snakes but if he dose in fact decide to take over one day I will be the proudest "albeit worried" pop out there. Keep up the good work everyone and good luck with what ever you are doing, Take the time this next week to educate and show a child or for that matter an adult our wonderful world of keeping snakes and how beautiful they can be, I cant make up the general publics mind and neither can you but maybe we both can, God bless to you and yours.

this week in review has got to be the best ever!!! i loved your "personal touches" and your lil story about you and your son going out herping. you're gonna have to post pics. i just cant believe its been a week already. boy time flies. well, i better go check on my reptile children...just woke up to see what was on here and now gotta check the incubator to make sure the temp is ok and check to see how emily is doing!!!! have fun!!!!!!

I'm trying to make the breeding list Okay I probed them myself, and the girl is a girl. The boy how ever is one of the borderline depths. Leaves me here wondering if they did something I didn't know, or if he is a she. Like I said I got them from a guy who I think is honest, but mistakes do happen. Though I don't tend to get the luck that turns a boy to a girl.

I have to tease you. You made a comment about ticks being worth nothing and then spiders needing to all be killed. Not going to pick on you about the ticks, but got to about the spiders. Do you have any idea about how many bugs spiders eat? it is an amazing amount. It we did not have spiders, the world would be over run with bugs in about a year. The air would be so thick with them, it'd be like walking through fog.
Now mosquitos. Has anyone found a use for them. I understand fllies because their larva break down and decompose stuff. But mosquitos and their larva have no purpose to me. Maybe to feed the mosquito fish and mosquito hawks (larger flying bugs)

i know spiders eat a great amount of bugs...... but i did have to laugh at the comment he made about my tarantula.
i even named her "fluffy" i figured a cute name would take the scarey part out...... the other tarantula i named her fifi.

LOl. My tarantula is Sweetie. She is amazingly nice. Unless you are another tarantula of course. If so, she will eat you!

Oh no not another WIR with a spider next week LOL God I hate spiders. I still remember when I shot a wolf spider with my BB gun that I found in my garage. It took 5 point blank shots to finaly take care of it "sorry spider lovers" I just cant stand them, Its 530pm now and we just got in, Drove hundreds of miles and herped 3 awsome locations. One main point of the trip was my wife wants a Garter Snake but we were not lucky enough to find any snakes other than a DOA HUGE Pacific Gopher seen on the highway on the way home tonight. The best part of the trip was my son caught his first lizard WOOHOO He always says theres one dad but there never realy is and today at the 2nd location he said there is one and I said yeh sure and didnt even look. A few minutes later he said look dad and opened his hand to reviel a large I believe female western skink. I was so pround, He found it him self and caught it himself cool cool cool. at the final location I found a hatchling Alligator lizard. We collected both lizards. We observed hundreds of Sceloporus occidentalis "my favorite lizard" but did not collect or even go after any of them. What an awsome day. I have 3 more days off so I think we will head out to the coast in a day or 2 to see what we can find there. Sorry but I forgot my camera. I will post some pictures of the 2 lizards we caught "especialy the one he caught" in a little while
