Anybody ever seen anything like this?

jgr May 01, 2006 08:59 AM

I found two of these little guys (actually a pair of them) in my last shipment of CH from Ghana. Both have VERY orange/red bellies.

Before you ask, they have never been on belly heat of any kind, all of our racks are heated in the backs.

Both have had their first sheds and kept the color so far.

I can't wait for another shed to see what happens now...

Picture is of the female next to a normal male....

Has anyone else ever seen this in balls before and does anybody have any info on what could cause it?

Last year a couple of my CB hatchlings showed a slight amount of pink. When they had their first shed it was clear with a noticeable amount of pink coloring. I thought it was unusual and posted pics in the forum. Everyone that replied said not a big deal, normal, etc. After the first shed, it was gone and all of the later sheds looked normal. It was just odd that out of a group of 20 hatchlings sired by the same male, a couple had the pink coloring.
