Geoemydid Hybrids?

tbrophy71 May 01, 2006 10:11 AM

Greetings!

As I've been gathering information on turtle hybridization, I've run across several references to geoemydid hybrids in the kingsnake.com archives. Can anyone verify or provide more information on the following hybrids? Any information on other turtle hybrids would also be helpful. Thanks!

1) Ocadia sinensis X Chinemys nigricans (posted by Paul V on 7/1/00)

2) Mauremys mutica X Chinemys nigricans (posted by Paul V on 7/1/00)

3) Mauremys japonica X Chinemys nigricans (posted by Paul V on 7/1/00)

4) Ocadia sinensis X Heosemys grandis (posted by Paul V on 7/1/00)

Thanks again!
Tim

I love your site esp the albino Malaysian box . I see tiny babies from different countries mostly common red ears and soft shells, some diamondbacks once in blue moon being sold in steeet corners during mid summer here in Miami . Some box turtles to but rarely .

I have never seen an albino even in a pet store .

illegal ofcourse but nothing ever happens . Sadly I know people that buy them than release them in area canal after few weeks, months if they dont die .

Great pics .
