"Orange Sunshine" Corn Snake Morph

herpsplendor May 01, 2006 12:19 PM

OK, I know there's no such thing, but I really like the color orange and I don't care too much for albinos so here's my question....If I was to cross a bloodred with a caramel would I get an "Orange Sunshine"? I know genetics don't work like that (red might trump yellow) and I'm sure this has been tried before. I'm hoping someone out there knows if this is possible...thanks in advance!

A hypo Okeetee is about as close as I'd get?

From what I understand, the caramel bloodreds that have been produced tend more towards brown than anything else.

If you want a non-amel orange snake, there are several possibilities, mostly along the hypo-morph vein. Hypo Okeetees tend to have a very orange ground color. Some crimsons can have orange saddles (I had one from VMS Herps that wound up that color). Hypo Stripes also can wind up quite orange, if you like the pattern.
