Need some reliable care sheets

Sunfox May 01, 2006 02:57 PM

I've got a rather large project to do on chameleons and I'd like to be able to read as many accurate care sheets as possible. I've already read the one on this site but I require more.
Can anyone here provide me with some links to excellent chameleon care sheets? I don't trust everything I read online which is why I'm asking for help here.

Thanks everyone.

(I'm not sure what chameleons I will be dealing with yet but I assume it will be veileds since they're the most common type.)

Here's a link to my site - I just updated some of the info on the caresheet(s) today. It's bigger and more detailed than most caresheets. I find that people ignore information on a caresheet unless they have a good reason to believe what it's saying to do. that's why I explain EVERYTHING, even the "bad" things.

Let me know if there's anything that's not clear, or could use improvement.

In case you need sheets for species other than than Veiled, there is a wealth of information here. Diane

Thanks for the help everyone.
There's going to be a whole room of cages for these guys (Veileds I believe) and I just wanted to know how far apart the cages should be to each other so that a chemeleon doesn't stress out its neighbour in the next cage?

Thanks everyone.

P.S. Thanks very much Eric Adrignola for your caresheet that you made. It was very insightful and useful.

Adam will probably post some of his breeder pics. he uses custom made adjoining cages with wood on the connecting sides and screen wire on the front and rear. I've never read anything about their sense of smell, so I think you just have to worry about their very significant visual accuity. Cages around all of the walls of a room would probably be far enough apart or, as in Adam's case, a top and bottom row. He has a very cool set-up. diane

You said..."There's going to be a whole room of cages for these guys (Veileds I believe) and I just wanted to know how far apart the cages should be to each other so that a chemeleon doesn't stress out its neighbour in the next cage?"...I keep my veileds in cages side by side but with a barrier between the cages (like frosted glass) so that they can't see each other. If I have another row on another wall (across the room, for instance) there must also be a barrier between the two rows so that they can't see each other. They can see quite a long distance.

Even doing this, there have been concerns that veileds (in particular) can still "sense" that the another is in the room...
