i havent fed my dragons roaches yet but i want to give it a shot. seems like its the "new favorite" good for owners to feed their dragons. now i got 2 questions, one is how many roaches should a dragon eat in one feeding? and 2 is does it matter what spiecies of roaches you feed to dragons? i know there are many out there, are any useless or harmful to BDs? thanks, Judson @ BeachBeardies *website coming soon*

Depending on the size usually 2-4 is equal to 20-30 crickets. The best species for dragons are the Blaptica dubia or Blaberus discoids.

are lobster roaches good to feed dragons? i have easy access to get those, and cheap too.

oh and when you say 2-4 roaches are like 20-30 crickets, do you mean in nutrional value or what? cause i wouldnt think 2-4 roaches would fill up a dragon as well as 20-30 crickets, but i may be wrong

Lobster roaches breed fast, but you have to be willing to put up with their speed and climbing. Most species (not lobsters) are so much bigger than crickets that 2-4 nice big fat nymphs will be good for them. Remember cricket are made up mostly of water so with roaches your getting a lot more bug for your buck!!.

We feed our Beardeds a lot of Lobster Roaches. Though they do climb our guys don't give them a chance and have never had a problem with Lobsters getting out of our cages. Dish feeding works well for us. We smear veggie oil on the sides of a feeding dish and pour the roaches in. The beardeds just pick them off as they run around.

Another aproach I've taken is to freeze small Lobster Roaches and use them like bacon bits on my greens. My gang loves them.
