Pics of my uros set-up

Hello all

I havent been real active in the past few months. im ussually over in the iguana forum.

The cage is a 40 gallon long which has a 4ft twin tube florecent light on top with to repti sun 5.0s. and also a smaller florecent light for some addtional light. i have a single flood light on top for heat but this weekend i will be going to two.
Log hide for sleeping at night. good amount of sand for burrowing. and random desert plants for decoration. which he has shown no intrest in. and the peice of wood in back was found at my house and cured before being put in the tank

it's a nice set up but is everything really secure? like i would hate for the little guy to be digging and for something to shift and him get squished. other than that it looks great

yep everything is secure. all the plants, wood, is sitting on the bottom of the cage

Good looking set-up, as so many are before the strewn-about food & "droppings" rapidly catch up with the visually perfect photo. Seriously, my only concern would be the wooden objects. Trust me, they are bacteria & fungal petri dishes. Stick to rocks as much as possible. When your Uros crap upon a porous object like wood, good luck cleaning the mess up. Rocks can be easily washed & baked sterile. Wood serves as a pathogenic sponge. Not a good thing over the long term.
Just my thoughts.
