Multicincta caught on 9 September, 2001

I caught this zonata, (legally), when she was a hatchling in 2006. I'm sure I gave her her first meal. I had not kept a catch since the late 80's. My wife is no fan of snakes, She watches when I catch, but had never seen me catch one I wanted to keep. Because of this snakes beauty she put up no fight at all when set up a terrarium in our living room. This is a picture I took of her that year...

She's still with us and doing well. She cruises around and shows off her colors and feeds regularly. Here is a picture I took of her yesterday...

She has become a real part of our family and will be hopefully for many years to come.

Like my pond?

The pond is cool, and the snake is cool!!

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.

Interesting colors on that multicinta. I think I have an idea on where it came from, though I will not guess.

Would your guess be somewhere in Calaveras County?
