Business Name....

ankinc May 02, 2006 08:03 PM

Hey Everybody!

I was just filling out the form to become incorporated, and I am having second thoughts about my name.... I was going to name it Ankaramy Inc., as thats how everyone knows me, but I have been straying away from ankaramies unfortnetly and am not sure if I want that to be my name, now that I mainly breed other locales.

Anyway, here are the 2 best names we have come up with. I just wanted to get your guys opinions on which is best. I like and dislike both for different reasons, but my favorite is the first one, but tell me your honest opinion of which is your favorite, or if you have anything that will make them better, or completely new ones! Here they are....

"Bug-Eyed Inc." or "Bug-Eyed Exotics, Inc."

and "K'meleons Inc."

Why does it need to be incorporated? Ank Inc sounds good, but something like Bug Eyed Exotics Inc. would sound better without Inc.

I was thinking more along the lines of "Kindergarten Chameleons." Kinda has a nice ring to it, don't you think? Ha ha ha, just playing Adam, sorry, I just had to LOL.

Hey,

Yeah, if I was going to use Bug-eyed Exotics, you are right, I wouldn't use the Inc.

I just want a very original name. I like Bug-eyed Inc. alone because nobody knows it is a chameleon business, unless I tell them or they see the website, then everything kinda fits together. If anybody has any ideas or suggestions, I would love to hear them. BTW Tyler, you didn;t say what one you like more...

Adam, I've heard some bad things about becoming incorporated. Like you have to file your taxes every quarter. Why are you becoming incorporated?

I shouldn't even talk, here in Albuquerque this city councilwoman has hung this Peta-type animal ordinance over our heads for the last two years and in the meantime all of my plans to move forward are on hold. She keeps rewriting and changing things which she says she is compromising on. There is a whole bunch of us that routinely show up at the city council meetings ready to say bad things about her if she presents her stuff. (I really wanted to say something else here Eve but notice I restained myself.) Right now, she'll allow you to have a collectors permit for 15 animals but that just isn't enough when you want to work with four or five Panther locales and what about the babies.

Do you still breed Ankaramys? I've been thinking about getting into them and I've always had you and Cham Paradise in mind when I get a pair. Valerie.

I forgot. Of those names I like Bug Eyed Exotics Inc best, but better than that, I like Ank Inc. What about Adam Ank Inc? Just kidding.

It sounds too similar to "wild eyed reptiles", run by Leah Kroo and Jason Descamps - they once used to post here, before they set up their fancy new chameleon message board (which is probably the best chameleon message board for intermediate/advanced discussions). Plus, they are very weel known and respected.

Even though it's an original name, it's going to make people think of their company, lead to confusion, and claims that you copied it. Welcome to the world of business - sucks already, huh?

You're original name was cool, in type, but I have a hard time pronouncing malagasy names - especially since I NEVER talk to people about these things, it's almost 100% email, forums, and chats... I literally have never said Ankaramy out loud - I swear.

Use something that's unique to you, and what you're trying to do with your business. Ankaramy Inc. had that, so do something similar with the new name. Nobody really worked with them, so it was unique. find something else unique, and go with that.

I think you should just stick with Ank-inc, Adam. "Bug-eyed reptiles" could refer to snakes, other lizards, frogs...blah blah blah- alot of reptiles have bug eyes. I don't know about you guys, but I like K'meleons; That name is too cute.

Eric- LOL, I had never actually pronounced the names of chameleons to someone over the phone until only recently, and boy did I have them messed up. Hahaha, I'm glad I learned them though.

Wow Eric, thanks!

I never even thought of wild eye reptiles, and you are right, it is practically the same thing.

To be honest, I don't really like K'meleons, so I guess it is back ot the old drawing board.

Adam,

Relax a little and quite "thinkin" so hard about it. Do you remember your dreams at all? If so....it will probably come to you there...weird I know, but the subconcious is usually right on.

Bugg Eyed is cool.
? though. Why are you becoming INC? Not to get all up in your business, but I work in a field where we have LOTs of individuals who own businesses and some of them are Inc and some are not. In your case, I really don't see the need for you to become Inc. yet, so I'm just wondering what your thought behind it is?

Oh and Tyler, I was ALMOST proud of you.

Hey,

I am not exactly sure what benefits come with getting Inc. My parents do the whole business part of the chameleons, and after talking to their lawyer, they decided that getting Inc. would be the easiest way to go. LOL, the only reason I wanted to get Inc. was to sound bigger! But They have legimate reasons. I will ask them tommarrow.

Anyway, about the name, today I came up with the ultimate name! I am not disclosing it to anyone, except a few individuals. It is definetly original, and rolls off the tongue much better than Ank Inc. You will see it soon enough on my website! Talk to ya all later!
