Unusual breeding technique

Most of the balls I observe breeding usually lay in a loose circle with the tails wrapped, like this:

Well, today I witnessed this breeding. Long and skinny of it:

I just find this kind of interesting.

Especially smaller males on larger females. The males take the position of the female. Boas do it too. Not always, but often enough.

Doesn't look like your male is locked up with the female in the second pic. He is probably just rubbing against her to get her in the mood, explaining the stretched out appearance.
