Green iguanas autotomy

I had a discussion with a BRazilian friend of mine because he doesnt believe iguanas can drop their tails (autotomy ) and insists he will believe only when he sees a scientific article stating that. He doesnt even accept Melissa Kaplan's opinion in that matter!He insists he wants to see a scientific article!Can you help me?

I didn't think Iguanas can do that. Does your friend live in Brazil and if so, does he keep iguanas there?
