new cage with many pics!!!

yakob May 03, 2006 12:33 AM

So I recently bought a house with a detached shop on two acres. Well the shop is turning into the iguana house. Many photo's below.

The first pic was taken frome the SW corner of the property.

Close up of Shop

Pic of the timer setup that I made. There is the digital indoor/outdoor timer. The reason for the box can be seen in the next photo.

Here you see a contacter that is controlled by the timer. The reason for this is there is too much wattage to be used by a regular timer. I also like to be precise. The cage lighting consists of a 1000w metal hal light along with two 250w heat lamps. Full spectrum will be provided by reptileuv.com since the ceiling is nine feet and they can make bulbs that can be up around 5 or 6 feet from the ground.

This is the entry wall. Showing a cadet wall heater for night time heat. To the right is the exhaust inlet and above the door is the exhaust outlet for cooling when the ambient reaches 85 or above.

And the other two that are still in contruction.

And finally the cage and it's owners. The cage is 10 x 12 with 9 ' ceilings. The other two that are still in construction will be the same size and set up the same way. There is more work to be done for decorations but that is following soon. There is Ralph,Honey and Ronnie in there respective order of size.

pretty cool. love the size. seem well thought out. Any windows? real light, something to look at. I made some "window boxes" for getting some sun that work really well. 'can share if interested.

nope, no windows. They seem to always spend hours trying to dig out when they can see outside there cage. Also, If you look at the photo taken from the SW corner of the lot the shop is east. My plans are to construct outside enclosures that will be appox. the same size as there indoor ones or possibly larger since I don't have any issues with room. The good thing is there is no obstructions from the sun, sunrise to sunset. Great for the iguanas, I don't know about me when my house is 90.
