She bit me again

damnitbonnie May 03, 2006 07:15 AM

I was going to name the armatas Mickey and Minney (love the mouse) but after being bitten a couple time figured Mickey and Mallory were more suited. Kinda harsh I guess. She got me again this morning. She had shed left on her horns, the base and tip of her tail. She let me get the horns but when I touched the tip of her tail she began flailing back and forth. Before I could get her back in the cage she bit me 6 or 7 times. Each bite harder than the last. Her after the bite and my thumb.

Wow Bonnie! Mine are so tame. I really feel lucky. Was she captive bred? Do you hold her a lot? We hold ours every evening for a while. Not the same one every night. Princess is so docile and sweet. I did put a log in like Jobie suggested. But so far, she is still on a branch with her main squeeze, Mike. I just can't believe she bit you like that! WOW!

All my dragons except for crucigera prefer to use logs, the little guys love the branches.

you need to work on your handling skills, 7 consecutive bites from the same lizard! the poor thing must be higly stressed.

She was wild caught. I've had her about a month. I don't hold her everyday. As long as I'm not trying to do something to her (like meds or my grooming attempt) she isn't bad. The male doesn't like to be held at all. He hasn't bit me but he shows aggresion when I try to pick him up.
She started to flop back and forth in my hand and I was afraid I would drop her. It didn't take long for me to get the cage door open and put her back in. She just kinda gnawed on my thumb. I wouldn't call her mean but she will definatly let you know when it's time to be put back. I don't handle these guys unless I have to. My capras get held everyday. Monroe doesn't like it much but the girls don't mind at all.
Jobi, your second picture has some very nice lizards in it.
