I've recently joined the herpetological society here in Louisiana, and one service they provide is removing problem snakes when people call Fish and Wildlife. We do this on a volunteer basis, and I've decided to volunteer. Most of the time, people will just take the snake a couple of hundred yards down the road and release it in the nearest wooded area. They did tell me that I was welcome to keep anything that I wanted. If someone calls for a nuisance ball python, I'll have my next pet.

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.
