I've had both but I prefer blueys. Uros are just too active--always digging or trying to scratch through the glass. Both are easily handled and make great pets, but blueys are more of a lap-lizard. the only herp Ive ever had that falls asleep every day on me while we watch TV.

1 Eastern Blue Tongue Skink
2 Tarahumara Mountain Kingsnakes - Knoblochi
1 Thayer's Kingsnake - Thayeri
2 Golden Greek Tortoises
1 Pyxie Frog - 14 years old
I have never kept either species myself, though as of this typing I am doing my homework on keeping blue tongues. I believe you should go with the blue tongue. I have heard them referred to as "the cadillacs of the pet lizards." They are also quite intelligent from what I hear, making it a lizard you can actually interact with like a dog or cat (to an extent). They also do not need a ton of space like uromastyx require. They also do not need temperatures over 100 degrees (uromastyx like it hooooooooooooooot).
PS-since you are dubbed Beardie Lover, I assume you have at least one beardie. Uromastyx are agamids, just like beardies. Why not try something new?
