Normal pet boa

schroderal May 03, 2006 01:18 PM

Hi,
I was feeding my boa and decided to take some photos. This snake was found in poor condition outside at approx. 7 am. in October 2003. The temp. was around 40 degrees where it was found. The local animal shelter was not equipt to take care of it. So the snake was given to me. I named it Lucky. I was wondering if lucky was a Columbian boa or Central American? What do you think?

Thanks
Alan

a shot of the top of the snake so its entire pattern and color can be viewed.

Thanks!

I don't know what kind it is without a shot of the top of it either, but I posted to say that boa has some fantastic side patterns! They are awesome whatever kind of boa it is. You don't see that sort of side pattern very often, whatever it is it is a very special boa, and not likely a "normal pet boa" at all. I am glad you were able to rescue it too. You're both very lucky.

I would really like to see more pics as well.

Wouldnt that be something.. I try for years to hit the NEW designer something or other.. and you possibly found one in the freezing cold.

I believe Lucky fits both ways! Good luck!

Hi,
Here is another photo of the Lucky. I never had Lucky sexed. The snakes been approx. 6 ft for the last two years and has been feeding on jumbo rat during that time. It doesn't seem to be growing anymore.

Thanks
Alan
