Who remembers what morph or

mchambers May 03, 2006 05:54 PM

whatever suboc that Shawn Devero found slightly west of the Terlingua Creek bridge some years ago. I met up with him just a few minutes after he found the snake but I thought it was the " ghost " morph in which I still have never heard of anymore found. ?????????

Shawn caught a blonde suboc by Terlingua once, I don't recall it being anything different than a typical blonde. That was in either 1997 or 1998. That snake died.
In 1999 Swan also caught a silver colored normal near the Wild Horse. It was a young adult thought to be a female. Shawn didn't want it because the blonde he had caught had died and I got it. It was 2002 before I finally got a male Christmas Mtns. suboc (normal one). Actually I got a pair of normals and they were collected by Shawn and Chad.
In 2004 I attemped breeding and it was a good thing I had gotten a pair of normals because the silver turned out to be a male. 6 normal colored offspring were produced but it was not known if the silver or the normal was the father.
In 2002 Ric Blair and I has also caught a silver color normal pattern suboc at Black Gap. Since Ric and I had the silver Gap suboc and it was a lighter, prettier snake and I need to trim down my collection I got rid of all my Xmas subocs last year including the silver Shawn caught.

I heard different as to either Dave Long or someone on that suboc but can't remember. It DID cost Shawn about $400 to try to save that snake. If we are talking of the same snake it was a juvenile. And Arron, remember I was on that trip with Shawn and Chad. Actually I don't remember the finding of a silver by them but they WERE together for one brief night as I was with Brandon one brief night who actually went down in Chads vehicle. Are you saying that they knew it was a silver ?

Shawn was not with anybody when he found the silver. He found the silver in 1999. I was staying at the Wild Horse and saw it the next day and got it from him then.
I said he was with Chad in 2002 when they found the plain old normal subocs which I got from them to pair up with the silver.
I only brought that up to give some background on what the silver was bred to and what offspring of his may be floating around out there. And ya, Chad, Brandon and Shawn were all in the trailer and now that I think about it I think Chad and Brandon were in one vehicle and Shawn in another but I believe Shawn said that he and Chad had caught some normal subocs, there was like 5 and Shawn said I could have a pair because half of them were his. Again those were all normal subocs, the silver was caught by Shawn alone in 1999.

but ya can't be anywheres old as me ! I was the " old guy " on that trip and you and Brown came in one night and crashed on the floor ( well, you did at least ) at the Wild horse. Remember now ? Shawn and ME went down as Shawn and me did about 9 other times together but had Chad and Brandon behind us. To break the boredom I believe we switched partners on that one night. That trip didn't produce as good for us as other trips before and after for some reason other than we were all blessed by flat tires when we got to Sanderson caused by cactus thorns or mesquite thorns, LOL ! Also Shawn and I were what seemed to be bad company as to never finding alterna together or anything but normal subocs. We did find several ( more than 7-8 ) leps together though through the years of going down duo. Now going individually or with others, alterna and suboc morphs and add some celanopes was a different story.

Ha, ha ya I remember now. Me and Shannon had left from Lordsburg, NM the previous morning and not gotten a room, then hunted all night and crashed on the floor that morning until we could check in. I didn't know who was hunting with who til later.
I also caught and gave to Chad a big pink Coachwhip from west of Sanderson that year.
