0.1 West African Green Mamba (Dendroaspis Viridis) CH'04

The viridis is the only one of the 4 I have not had the pleasure of working with. They are gorgeous! Thanks for the pix. Was that a mist bottle or a fire hose?

Cool snakes. I enjoy a sole east african green myself (it was one of the animals that MsTT rescued and it now has a happy home with me). I've had it over a year now and I'm amazed at how "social" it seems. It takes frozen thawed prey off of tongs and doesn't have a crazy feeding response or anything. Actually, it is the most accepting of any of my snakes regarding me being in the room while it is eating. I've seen/worked with friend's black mambas and I'll just sum it up by saying that mambas are some of the most social and most intelligent snakes I've run across. You just have to avoid the pointy end
.

I need to get some updated pictures of this snake uploaded. It's probably around 6ft long now and a very impressive animal.
Nice shot and nice animal Bobby. Kinda makes me miss my mambas...then I remember the green blurs and think nah...I'll stick to the slower hooders

Nice snakes, Joe.

That's reason number 37 why I don't keep mambas. I'd go through the first 36, but most talk about how much of a little pansy I am.
