earliest eggs start to dimple in

kylescott May 04, 2006 05:02 AM

I expect these eggs to hatch in 2 1/2 weeks and a few of the eggs have started to dimple in? I know eggs should usually dimple in a week before hatching. What is the earliest eggs should start to dimple in? I spray water around the eggs and rewet the newspaper around the sides and place a slightly dample newspaper over the eggs also to create more humidity. I think I have just been to eager to see them and open the tub way to much. But just thought I should ask if 2-3 weeks is to early for eggs to start dimpling in. Any comments and advice welcome.

Thanks,
Kyle

I couldn't say what the earliest is, but I see it anytime in the last few weeks.
so I wouldn't be concerned about 2.5 weeks.

When were they laid and what temp and humidity do you have them at. They still look good, they havents really started to dimple yet. My eggs normally start to dimple at 45-50 days . Also are they starting to break the bond that holds them together?

Kyle, My eggs usually dimple in at around 35 days sometimes a little before. I have seen eggs dimple in at just over 20 days into incubation. As long as your eggs look ok, I wouldn't add too much water. If you get the eggs too wet they could go bad. What you have should be the normal dimpling stage. Hope that helps. Thanks david
