Need some help: eggs laid, what do I do?

goldbug May 04, 2006 08:56 AM

We have 3 female (apparently not!) leopard geckos.

We have a normal one, a tang/carrot and a LV Jungle Albino.

These are family pets.

We have a 40 gallon aquarium set up with rocks, log thingy to climb on & a plastic container of damp moss (to aid in shedding)

I got up this morning to set the cage up (we are leaving for a 3 day getaway) ~ and found my LV Jungle had laid 4 eggs in the bottom of the moss.

What do I do? Please help quickly!!! If anything is to be done, it will be in the next couple of hours.

thanks!

If they truly are all females, and you have had them long enough to know that know male has not been near them for a long time (more han 6 months) Then they are probably just infertile eggs. Just give the girl some extra calcium to cover any loss she may have had from laying them.
IF they are fertile eggs, you will need to act really fast to save them... there are many pages available on the internet if you google for it, but here is one to get you started.
If you don't already have an incubator, or if you are not handy enough to build one quick, there may be nothing you can do in time.

First of all a female leopard gecko can not lay 4 eggs in one clutch... So the other female had to have laid two eggs as well.... Dont know what the chances of that are.... Truthfuly, this story sounds a bit off to me for some reason...
