How long after mating ?

Tammy May 04, 2006 11:06 AM

HI All,

How long after mating will the female be ready to lay eggs. She seems to be growing already and the pair was just put together a week ago.

Thanks,
Tammy

Usually first clutch is 3-5 weeks after mating. Always good to have the egg laying box in the cage after two weeks and check it daily or every other day, depending on how fast it dries out. If you use shredded coconut husk for the egg laying medium, then check it every day. Eggs go bad within 36 hours if lain in coconut husk.
